I didnt think I would like this book once I started reading, but it really surprised me. Its a book about kids adventures, trials and tribulations. But I like a book that has background in either real like storys or movies. This one was story of a spin off on the tv series Bones. I liked that, but what kept in suspense was trying to figure out where the science fiction came. I also like a book that isnt a remake of a remake of a remake. It had mystery, it had suspense, it had action, and sci-fi. I was a little disappointed that there isnt a sequel that I could jump right into, but I hope there is one later. I will keep checking.

I didnt think Id like this book in the beginning, but it picked up and soon I couldnt wait to see what happened next. I like how it references the tv show Bones, and especially loved the added sci-fi addition to it. Was disappointed that there was another book to jump into to continue on. Ill have to keep checking to see if there is a sequel. But the mystery, keeps it going and the wanting to find out was the fantasy is going to come into play keeps you intrigued. I recommend this book, even if it is about the adventure of kids.

I was very disappointed. I hate it when a really good author finds something that sells well and becomes a formula-writer. Too much dialogue, lacks the usual Reichs power of description and goes on and on much too long. Rather predictable, too. Enjoyable in itself, but more of a fantasy read than the usual Kathy Reichs books. Aimed at the young adult market.
