3 Claims.
l The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in garments and more particularly to garments such as trousers, overalls, and similar articles of apparel and the inventi-on has 1 for its primary object to preserve the crease in the front and rear of the legs of the trousers.
More specifically, the invention embodies the provision of a vertically extending blind stitch in the front and rear of the trouser leg and functioning to provide and retain a crease therein.
A further object of the invention is to improve the appearance of the trousers by providing simple and practical means for maintaining the crease therein over a relatively long period of time against bagging, wrinkling and other distortion of the trousers which causes an unsightly appearance therein.
Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:
Figure 1 is a front elevational view.
Figure 2 is a side elevational View.
Figure 3 is a bottom plan View, and
Figure 4 is an enlarged fragmentary side elevational view of one of the trouser legs.
Referring now to the drawings in detail wherein for the purpose of illustration I have disclosed a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 5 designates a pair of trousers of conventional construction and of any suitable material.
The trousers are provided with a front vertically extending crease 6 and a rear vertically extending crease 'l in each leg thereof and in order to preserve the crease over a relatively long period of time I provide one or more vertically exten-ding rows of blind stitching 8 on the inside of the garment and both the front and rear creases thereof, the thread being concealed at the outer surface of the garment.
The stitching 8 preferably extends from the cuir at the bottom edge of the trousers to the belt at the upper edge thereof and will serve to prevent wrinkling of the garment material along the front and rear creases and thus serve to prolong the life of the crease.
In view of the foregoing description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings it is believed that a clear understanding of the construction and advantages of the article will be quite apparent to those skilled in the art. A more same is susceptible to certain changes fullyl comis accordingly prehended by the spirit of the invention as herein described and the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim is:
1. A garment including leg portions having creases extending vertically at the front and rear of the leg portions, means for maintaining said creases including a vertically extending single row of blind stitching secured to the inner surface of the leg portions immediately behind said creases, said stitching extending partly through a single thickness of the material of the garment and beingexteriorly invisible.
2. A garment including leg portions having creases extending vertically at the front and rear thereof, means for maintaining said creases including only blind stitching securedto the inner surface of the leg immediately behind said creases, said stitching extending partly through a single thickness of the material of the garment and exteriorly invisible.
3. A garment including leg portions having creases extending vertically at the front and rear of the leg portions within the vertex of the acute angular sections, said stitching extending through a single thickness of material 4and exteriorly invisible.
